She is HOME

We picked our baby girl up from the vet this afternoon and it nearly broke my heart. She seems to be doing alright, more vocal than usual, and seems frustrated, but luckily she doesn’t seem to be in too much pain. Our second dog Moose has been extremely delicate, giving her no more than a kiss on the nose and all the space she wants on their bed.

We tried to help her out to go to the bathroom, but she just sits down in the grass. I guess we will have to play that part by ear. I’d write more but I am exhausted.

  1. Welcome home gorgeous! You look pretty darn good for a dog who’s just been through major surgery.

Yeah, the first couple of days are a bit ruff on the humans but in no time at all they will see that you are getting around much better than they ever expected. The potty thing can be a challenge and you might be seeing pink elephants for a while, but once those pain meds are over and you’ve got your stitches out, you’ll have your life back. Promise!

3-paws up to you. Bark with any questions at all OK? Be sure to visit our Discussion Forums for feedback and encouragement (not that you’ll need it Dakota, but your people might!).

    WELCOME HOME DAKOTA!!! 🙂

She’s still got some stro g hospital meds in her right now,so she may not even be aware she needs rompotty! If she has an “accident” inside, don’t be alarmed.!

My Happy Hannah was quite whiny and restless for at least the first three nights home. I don’t think she nor I slept more than five hours total during those first xeveral days!

Hang in there. This part is not easy. On top of everything else, you are exhausted emotionally and physically.

AND CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR WEDDING!! BEST PRESENT EVER HAVING YOUR GIRL HOME WITH YOU! 🙂

  3. Omd she is just so beautiful! Congrats on both of you making it through this and back home safe and sound. You are both going to need some tlc and rest. Your girl looks wonderful, don’t be surprised about her sitting down on you. She has lots of wonderful pain meds on board. Those meds can also make them more vocal. If she’s really loopy you might want to put something waterproof under her so you don’t have to go through the hassle of washing her bed in case she has an accident. Please keep in touch with any questions or concerns and get some rest!
    Hugs ❤❤
